Essentials for Digital Coaching: Course Overview

Care workers are often being asked to help support their peers, teams and clients with new digital technologies and apps. They often don’t know where or how to start.

This course is designed to upskill care workers, who have a base level of digital skills, to build their confidence to be an effective digital coach for their peers, teams and clients.

Who this course suits

You may be a little tech savvy and asked to support peers or clients with their digital skills. Roles such as: Team leaders, Support Care Workers, Lifestyle Coordinators, Recreational Activities Officers, Admin Assistants.

What we will cover

  • Being a Digital Coach - what is a Digital Coach and why do we need them? 

  • Digital Learner Journey - understanding the stages of the learner journey and meeting learners where they are

  • Learning Styles - applying characteristics of each learning style to enhance learning efficiency 

  • Setting up and building your coaching relationship - building trust and rapport

  • Think Like a Coach mindset - essential 4 point Framework that Digital Coaches can use to approach any coaching situation

  • The Art of Questioning - how to ask powerful, thought provoking questions to elicit responses that will help your learner’s progress 

At the end of this course you will be able to

  • Define the stages of the Digital Learner Journey and put into context for themselves and their learners

  • Describe the overall Digital Coach relationship & approach to digital learning

  • Apply learning styles as a lens on learning journeys

  • Apply the ‘Think Like a Coach’ mindset when guiding others to explore technology and apps.
