Australian Red Cross and YourLink to deliver digital inclusion, social and support program for seniors

YourLink is pleased to be working with Australian Red Cross to design and deliver a digital inclusion and social support program for seniors across NSW.

Australian Red Cross provides social support and a range of service to elderly people. Clients can sign up for face-to-face visits from community members, receive regular wellbeing calls, provide transport to and from medical appointments and be provided with a personal alarm.

“Our older clients have been greatly impacted with access to essential one-on-one support due to the challenges of recent months.” Janelle Cazaubon Regional Manager ARC, Northern Region NSW says.

“The Tech Smart Seniors program is an exciting new program for Australian Red Cross that will bring our older clients into the digital world.” says Janelle.

YourLink is supporting the Australian Red Cross team with a full suite of services to bring this program to life. This includes the program design and strategy; program communications; training for staff, volunteers and clients; iPads and mobile data procurement; and program support.

“We’re proud to support Australian Red Cross to bring digital access and confidence for their staff, volunteers and clients. We are excited to see how it will transform their social support service delivery for older clients.” says Richard Scenna, Founding Director of YourLink.

“As we’ve never done this before, we needed a partner we could trust to be with us every step of the way. YourLink brings great experience rolling out these programs even during a pandemic” Michael Ryan, Regional Operations Manager, Central Coast/Hunter NSW says.

The Tech Smart Seniors program will be delivered to seniors living across the Central Coast and Hunter region of NSW. For clients in the program, they will receive an iPad with data, YourLink led group training to support the use of the device, one-on-one social support visits from Australian Red Cross staff and volunteers as well as ongoing support.

There will also be access to specific wellbeing programs run by Australian Red Cross clients aimed at enhancing people’s personal care outcomes from the social support services they receive.

“We’re looking forward to the opportunities this will create for our clients to connect to families, friends and communities.” says Michael.

About Australian Red Cross

Red Cross is the world’s largest humanitarian organisation with over 100 million volunteers worldwide and over 60,000 members and volunteers in Australia. We are guided by our seven fundamental principles of Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary service, Unity and Universality. Our community support programs focus on enhancing the wellbeing of those isolated or disadvantaged older people in our community. We aim to increase social participation and feelings of connectivity to their local community.

About YourLink

YourLink is an organisation dedicated to the digital inclusion of seniors, carers and care workers. We put devices into their hands and train them how to use them so that they can be more confident in accessing services, connecting with friends, and finding their interests online. We do this by co-designing digital inclusion programs with our clients and provide digital coaches to support ongoing learning so that seniors, carers and care workers are independent, get the most from their devices and actively participate in a digital world.
