Catholic Healthcare and YourLink partnership creating digital change for clients

Catholic Healthcare has partnered with YourLink to co-design and deliver the Smart Technology Program for clients and care workers across NSW. The Smart Technology Program is designed to spark curiosity and confidence with digital devices for clients so they form new habits in how they use technology.

The Smart Technology Program will enhance the lives of seniors through meaningful connections with family and friends”, advocates Therese Adami, General Manager, Home & Community Services, Catholic Healthcare. “We want them to have fun with their smart devices and continue to build their confidence while trying new things.”

There is no denying how important staying digitally connected has become to living an independent and engaged life. Catholic Healthcare recognises the important role in supporting its clients with the essential digital skills and confidence to participate.

The program launched at the end of 2021 with 34 clients and over 60 Catholic Healthcare Care Workers upskilled to be digital coaches and supported clients in their learnings at home as we were coming out of lockdown.

As Dianne Dew, YourLink head of Training says: “We understand that everyone starts off feeling anxious or nervous about learning again, particularly in a group setting. It’s amazing to see how the individual's confidence grows over the sessions and how the shared supportive space can really comfort everyone.“

Catholic Healthcare client Colleen shared some inspiring wisdom:

My confidence has grown enormously! As you get older it is hard to remember everything that has been taught. Remembering everything is my problem. Confidence has been my biggest asset, and family notice how I’ve improved!”

Clients can register for the Smart Technology Program commencing Wednesday, 25 May at McQuoin Park in Wahroonga. Places are limited. Find out more at: www.catholichealthcare.com.au/events/smart-technology or call Niall Heaney on 1300 941 469.
